The Oakland Foundation was delighted to support Active Kitchen who, during the half term break, worked with 6 community partner organisations and a number of schools across Bromsgrove and Redditch to identify suitable children, young people and their families to deliver 180 parcels, which included healthy food along with activities such as sticker books and reading books.
The infographic and images show the volunteers and some of the children and families in Bromsgrove and Redditch who benefitted from the project.

Project partners commented that it was well received and provided the added benefit of enabling youth workers the opportunity to engage with, and provide a welfare check, for vulnerable young people within the community, many of whom they had not had any contact with during lockdown.
