Oakland Foundation to Extend Geographical Reach

With the pandemic affecting so many people locally and nationally, the Foundation has been working hard to extend contact with more and more local schools and youth organisations in the Redditch and Bromsgrove areas.

Latest reports show that the total number of children living in poverty in the UK is now at 4.5 million.

Launched in 2012 and officially opened by Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, the Foundation’s aim was to support underprivileged children in Redditch and Bromsgrove, and today there is a greater need than ever before to help and support underprivileged children across the country.

As our key sponsor Oakland International has grown and opened new depots, the Foundation is at an exciting stage in its history as it looks to extend its education and youth support, and geographical reach.

Recent causes supported by the Foundation includes supporting over 1,100 girls through the ‘This Girl Can’ programme in partnership with Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire. We have helped to deliver over 1,000 holiday meals via the Active Kitchen project since 2017 and ensured over 400 breakfasts annually have been made available to children undertaking SATS exams and 150 children benefitted from taking part in sports activities over the summer holidays.

We continue to focus on education and youth organisations locally, with a plan to develop this throughout 2021.
