Oakland Foundation Trustee Hayley Smith is a finalist in the Health and Wellbeing category of the Celebration of Volunteers Awards to be held at The Hive, Worcester on Thursday 9th June.
Open to the public, volunteers, voluntary organisations, parish and town councils as well as local businesses, the awards evening will be hosted by County Councillor Lucy Hodgson, Cabinet Member for Localism and Communities in partnership with the voluntary and community sector during National Volunteering Week (1st to 12th June) and will provide an opportunity for people to learn more about volunteering and the valuable contribution volunteers make to their communities.
Hayley Smith commented: “I am delighted and honoured to represent the Oakland Foundation as a finalist at the Volunteer Awards. It’s amazing that over 150 nominations were achieved and I made it to the final selections! What a real sense of achievement!
“All our trustees and volunteers do an amazing job, so I am overjoyed to have their achievements recognised and represent the Oakland Foundation at the awards.”The Oakland Foundation offers support for children within Redditch and Bromsgrove areas who are affected by financial hardship and other disadvantages, and offers help in areas such as Health and Nutrition, Education and Sport.
